- Service: A biped device, worn on the shoulders, operated with an App ("Biped app"). The device detects obstacles and provides navigation instructions.
- User: A blind or visually impaired user of the Service.
- Surrounding pedestrian: A person, captured by the cameras of the device, during the use of the Service.
1. Data Collection and Use:
Usage Data: We collect data related to the use of our products, including session times, logs, settings used, performance and error reports. This information is vital for us to understand how our products are used and to identify areas for improvement. This data is linked to the User account, to also restore previous sessions' settings. No sensitive data, such as images of User's surroundings or GPS navigation paths are stored during the use of the Service.
Research Projects: Within the scope of explicit research projects, we may collect sensitive data, such as low-resolution grey-scale images of User's surroundings or GPS tracks.
- As a User, you will always be informed in advance and your explicit written consent will be sought.
- As a Surrounding pedestrian, a low-resolution image of you which might include your face, and location, might be recorded, only during Research Projects. Outside of Research Projects, the biped device does not have an internet connectivity other than a Wi-Fi antenna, and does not collect nor store any image. To opt-out of such recording, simply indicate to our team members, during the Research Projects, that would like the sequence to be deleted, or write us at support@biped.ai
